SRF Q4 earnings: Consolidated net profit grows 25% YoY to ₹526 crore; revenue increases 20%

SRF Ltd reported a 24.6% increase in consolidated net profit for the January to March quarter on Monday, May 12, to ₹526.06 crore for the financial year 2024-25. Net profit stood at ₹422.21 crore in a year-ago quarter. The profit came on the back of strong sales.

The chemical sector-focused multi-business entity’s total income rose 20.23% to ₹4,215.17 crore in the January-March quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year as compared to ₹3,505.92 crore a year ago.

For the full 2024-25 fiscal year, the company, however, reported a 6.35% drop in consolidated net profit to ₹1,240.78 crore from ₹1,335.71 crore in the preceding year.

SRF’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 38% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹957 crore in Q4 FY25 as against ₹696 crore in Q4 FY24. Its margin stood at 22.2% for the quarter under review in contrast to 19.5% YoY.

Commenting on the results, Chairman and Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram said, “We have finished the year on a very strong note, supported by seasonal factors. That aside, we will go into the new financial year carrying this momentum. However, we are dealing with a very volatile global economy at the moment, and while we remain cautiously optimistic about the year ahead, the risks remain.”

On Monday, SRF shares settled at ₹3,011.80 apiece, rising 0.25% on the National Stock Exchange.

Other business updates

The company’s chemicals business reported an increase of 30% in its segment revenue from ₹1,816 crore to ₹2,355 crore during Q4 FY25 over the corresponding period last year. The operating profit of the segment advanced 50% to ₹748 crore in Q4 FY25 as against ₹498 crore YoY.

SRF also said that during the quarter, the speciality chemicals business demonstrated strong performance, driven by positive momentum in recently launched products and a pick-up in demand for certain key agrochemical intermediates.

Its performance films and foil business reported an increase of 19% in its segment revenue to ₹1,412 crore during Q4 FY25 from ₹1,182 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year.

The technical textiles business reported a decrease of 2% in its segment revenue to ₹458 crore during Q4 FY25 from ₹469 crore YoY.

The other businesses of SRF reported a decrease of 18% in its segment revenue from ₹106 crore to ₹87 crore in Q4 FY25 when compared with the same quarter in FY24.

As of March 31, 2025, the company has applied for 481 patents, with twelve patents applied for during the quarter.
